Braids can be simple, detailed, subtle or bold.
The right braid depends on your hair length, texture, density, scalp comfort and the style you want.
At Salon Nayana Bangalore, you can bring us a reference photograph or talk through the look with the stylist before starting.
Two of our main braid services are cornrows and box braids.
Cornrows
Cornrows are braided close to the scalp and can be arranged in anything from clean straight rows to much more detailed patterns.
The design affects both the appearance and the amount of work involved.
If you already have a design in mind, show the stylist a clear photograph so we can assess whether it suits your hair length and density.
Cornrow braids: ₹550 per braid
Box braids
Box braids are individual braids created in sections rather than being braided directly against the scalp.
They can be adjusted in size, length and overall finish.
The amount of hair and the number of braids have a significant effect on both the finished result and the time required.
Box braids: ₹3,000 onwards
Other braid styles
There are many variations of braiding, including twists, smaller braids and combinations of different patterns.
If you have a specific style in mind that is not listed as a standard service, send us or bring us a photograph.
The stylist can tell you whether we can create it with your own hair and whether additional hair will be required.

How long does my hair need to be for braids?
There is no single answer because different braid styles require different amounts of hair.
The stylist needs enough length to create and secure the chosen pattern comfortably.
If your hair is short, send us a photograph before your appointment and we can tell you what is realistic.
Are braids suitable for every hair type?
Different textures behave differently when braided.
Some hair grips very easily while finer or straighter hair may require a different technique.
The braid should also feel secure without putting unnecessary tension on the scalp.
This is one reason the design should be adapted to the person rather than copied exactly from someone else's photograph.
Looking after your braids
Keep your scalp clean and avoid unnecessarily pulling or tightening the braids.
At night, reducing friction against the hair can also help keep the style neater.
If a braid feels painfully tight rather than simply secure, tell the stylist.
Bring us the photograph
Braiding is visual.
If you have seen a particular pattern, parting style or length you like, bring the photograph.
We can then discuss what can be reproduced and what should be changed for your own hair.
