How we plan your perm

A curl pattern designed for your hair.

The consultation matters as much as the technique. We plan the result around your hair’s condition, your preferred level of definition and the maintenance you are comfortable with.

01

Condition first

We review previous colour, straightening, bleaching and chemical services before deciding whether perming is suitable.

02

Pattern with purpose

Rod size, sectioning and wrapping direction are chosen to create soft movement, bounce or stronger definition.

03

Aftercare you can follow

You leave knowing how to wash, condition, dry and refresh the curls without unnecessary complexity.

Learn before you perm

What permanent curls actually involve.

What is a perm?

A perm uses a controlled chemical process to reshape the hair’s internal bonds while it is wrapped around rods. A neutralising step then helps set the new wave or curl pattern.

Soft waves or defined curls?

Larger rods and looser wrapping create movement and body. Smaller rods and tighter patterns create more visible curl definition. Your length and density affect the final result.

Who is it suitable for?

Perming works best when the hair has enough strength for a chemical texture change. Previous bleach, colour, straightening and damage must be considered before proceeding.

What happens at the appointment?

We consult, assess and section the hair, wrap it on selected rods, apply and monitor the perm solution, neutralise, rinse and finish the curls gently. Timing varies by hair and pattern.

How long does it last?

The treated lengths remain textured as the hair grows, while the pattern gradually relaxes and new growth keeps its natural texture. Longevity varies with hair, curl choice and aftercare.

How do I care for it?

Avoid washing or tightly tying fresh curls for the period your stylist recommends. Afterwards, use gentle cleansing, regular conditioning and low-friction drying to support definition.
